Geopex benefits of the skills and knowledge of Mr. Elton L.S. Pereira, a M.Sc. Geologist with more than thirty years of a successful career in the mineral exploration industry in Brazil.
Mr. Pereira spent twelve years as an exploration geologist for Rio Tinto in Brazil, where he was involved in the discovery of several gold, gold/copper, kaolin and bauxite deposits in the country.
In the last thirteen years, Mr. Pereira was involved with the junior exploration company’s sector, where he was V.P. Exploration and country manager for Brazauro Resources Corp. and for TriStar Gold Inc.
At Brazauro (taken over by Eldorado Gold Corp. in 2010), Mr. Pereira leaded the team that defined Tocantinzinho, the largest gold deposit (2.5 MOz) ever found in the Tapajós Mineral Province. At TriStar, he leaded the team that discovered Castelo de Sonhos, a paleo placer gold deposit, currently with 2 MOz of total resources.
Mr. Pereira also holds proven skills and knowledge to deal with the various Brazilian governmental institutions, especially the DNPM (Brazilian Mining Agency) and the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy).
Mr. Pereira graduated as B.Sc. Geologist at Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos-RS in 1987 and holds a M.Sc. degree in Structural Geology at Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto-MG (1996).
Mr. Pereira is a member of the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG) and of the Brazilian Society of Geologists (SBG).
